Protected Area in creation, Allée des baobabs, has an area of ​​320 ha and contained at its inception in 2007, 313 feet of baobabs.

3 species of Baobabs on 6 exist in the Protected Area: A. grandidieri, A. rubrostipa and A. za

11 ha burned in the protected area of the Allée des Baobabs and 9 ha outside. Since its inception, approximately 220 baobabs were planted with 3 species of the Protected Area.

Fires have ravaged 99 of the 220 plants destroyed but no giant baobab.

Surveys conducted by the RCMP and DREF Menabe, follow its course to elucidate the origin and possibly the author of the fire.

With the hundreds of currently existing plants at the nursery of the protected area, local communities, supervised by officers of the DREF and Fanamby will replace plants very soon.
